The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, hosted American basketball star Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics at his palace and conferred on him the traditional Yoruba name 'Babatunde'. The name, which means 'the father has returned' or 'ancestor has returned', was described by the Ooni as Brown's ancestral identity. The ceremony was attended by other traditional rulers and palace officials. Brown was officially declared to be known as Babatunde Jaylen Brown henceforth.
