The federal government has announced plans to increase the real estate sector's contribution to Nigeria's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Muttaqa Darma, stated this during a meeting with the Real Estate Marketers and Consultants Association of Nigeria (REMCAN) in Abuja. Darma emphasized the sector's potential to become a top contributor to the economy, noting its current contribution is below levels in many other countries. He stressed the need for reforms to achieve this goal.
