The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest Litigation and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) visited the Maximum Security Custodial Centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, to identify inmates needing legal assistance. The delegation, led by Chairperson Prof Uju Agomoh, was received by Controller of Corrections CC RM Williams. During the visit, lawyers interacted with inmates, listened to their legal challenges, and requested a list of inmates with fines or needing legal intervention, especially for bail applications. NBA-SPIDEL assured inmates that identified cases would be reviewed and appropriate legal steps taken, and also provided basic items to support inmate welfare.
