The Nnamdi Azikiwe University branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU-NAU) has begun an indefinite strike over an alleged incomplete August salary, activating a 'no pay, no work' action. At its congress on Monday in Awka, the branch resolved to withdraw services in compliance with ASUU's National Executive Council standing resolution on non-payment of salaries. The branch chairman, Innocent Nnubia, and secretary, Osita Nnajiofor, stated that as of September 7, 2026, the university had not paid complete salaries for August, marking the third time members have experienced such delays.
