Benue bans extra lessons, phone use, tightens rules in schools

The Benue State Government has introduced stricter rules for schools as the 2026/2027 academic session begins. The new regulations ban compulsory extra lessons, unauthorized use of mobile phones, and graduation ceremonies for non-exit classes. Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. Margaret Adamu, directed school proprietors and teachers to ensure strict compliance. Schools and individuals violating the guidelines will face appropriate sanctions.
