SADC Chairperson President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended condolences to Tanzanian President Samia Suluhu Hassan on the passing of her husband, Mr Hafidh Ameir Hassan. Mr Hassan, 71, died on Monday, September 7, 2026, while receiving treatment for a cardiac condition. He had a distinguished career as an agricultural academic and agriculturalist. President Ramaphosa offered sympathies to President Hassan, her family, and the people of Tanzania, a founding member of SADC.
