Troops of the 27 Task Force Brigade under Operation HADIN KAI foiled a Boko Haram ambush along the Buni Gari-Buratai road in Biu Local Government Area of Borno State. The attack occurred at about 10:45 a.m. on Monday, September 7, 2026, during a military operation. An MRAP vehicle hit an IED, damaging two tyres, but troops exploited the site and recovered an AK-47 magazine, 30 rounds of ammunition, two RPG bombs, a motorcycle, and two bicycles. Captain Mohammed Goni, Acting Media Information Officer, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday.
