Churches back state police to end insecurity

The Spiritual Advisory Council (SAC) of the Christ Church, an umbrella body comprising the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), Methodist Church of Nigeria, and Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, has endorsed the establishment of state police. In a communique signed by Prelate Ekpenyong Nyong Akpanika, the council urged the federal government to fully implement a dual policing framework to address security challenges. The council acknowledged the government's efforts to constitutionally restructure the policing system and believes state police will enhance security across the country.
