The Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has called for stiffer penalties, including life imprisonment or the death penalty, for producers and sellers of counterfeit regulated products. She made this call during a press conference in Lagos, where she also disclosed that NAFDAC had cleared inherited debts of about N3.2 billion. The debts included unpaid taxes, staff allowances, and contractor payments from before her tenure.
