The Jigawa State Government has set a target to reduce learning poverty among basic school pupils to less than 10 per cent by 2031. Executive Secretary of SUBEB, Prof. Haruna Musa, noted that learning poverty in focal local government areas stands at about 56.7 per cent. He expressed confidence that deliberate interventions and collective commitment can reduce this figure. The announcement was made during the dissemination of the Teaching at the Right Level Endline Assessment under the Education and Youth Empowerment Programme in Northwestern Nigeria.
