The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced plans to deploy a real-time readiness tracker to monitor preparations for the 2027 general elections across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan disclosed this during a strategic operational workshop for administrative secretaries in Lagos. The tracker is intended to enable instant monitoring of election preparations, replacing reactive measures with proactive management. The workshop aims to produce a standardized Excel-based template linked to the Commission's Election Monitoring and Support Centre dashboard and Election Project Plan.
