The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) has clarified that Nigerians in the diaspora can travel home with expired passports, as these can be used for the journey and renewed upon arrival in Nigeria. This announcement comes as many Nigerians abroad plan end-of-year trips, allowing them to process renewals locally. The NIS also confirmed that the contactless passport application platform remains fully operational, and services at the UK High Commission are unaffected by ongoing interventions.
