A rice milling machine installed by UN Women is transforming the livelihoods of women farmers in Dabarkda community, Dass Local Government Area, Bauchi State, Nigeria. Previously, women had to travel long distances to process their rice harvest, which was time-consuming and reduced their ability to care for families or pursue other income-generating activities. The machine, provided to the Kunsuman Dabarkda Bundot Group A and Bamganfabam Dabarkda Bundot Group B cooperatives, is now enabling women like Aisha Suleiman to process rice locally, thereby improving their economic prospects and community well-being.
