Kenya and the United States have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and advancing cooperation in areas of mutual interest. Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, held talks with the visiting U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Mr. Frank Garcia. Discussions focused on expanding trade and investment, building on the extension of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) to 2028, and ongoing reciprocal trade negotiations. The two sides also discussed health cooperation, including reducing cancer treatment costs, and cooperation in critical minerals, defence, peace, and regional security. The talks looked ahead to the Fourth Kenya-U.S. Bilateral Strategic Dialogue, which Kenya will host in December 2026.
