The Director-General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, has rejected calls for her resignation, stating that she returned to Nigeria after 34 years in the United States to help restore the country's image. Adeyeye, who retired from a 30-year academic career in the US, said she came back to serve Nigeria, criticizing what she described as an aversion to service among some Nigerians. She made these remarks in response to mounting criticisms of the agency.
