A nationwide study published in Neurosurgical Review has revealed that thousands of Nigerian children with hydrocephalus, or 'water on the brain,' are at risk of preventable complications and lifelong disabilities. The study found that many children are diagnosed late, cannot afford treatment, or have limited access to specialist neurosurgical care. This highlights significant gaps in healthcare infrastructure and access in Nigeria.
