The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has alleged religious bias in the prosecution of former Kaduna State governor Nasiru El-Rufai. In a statement by Secretary-General Prof Is-haq Oloyede, the council warned against the weaponisation of public institutions and the legal system for a sectarian agenda. The NSCIA said it had previously refrained from commenting, believing the case was a standard judicial process, but recent developments raised concerns.
