Uganda: Central Bank tightens controls after security breach

The Bank of Uganda has tightened its internal controls following security breaches, including the reported loss of laptops and alleged hacking. Governor Michael Atingi-Ego disclosed this while appearing before Parliament's Public Accounts Committee. He stated that weaknesses have been addressed and expressed confidence in the measures taken. The governor, however, rejected the characterization of one incident as hacking.
