The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA) has alleged that external and religious forces are behind the continued detention of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai. In a statement by its Secretary-General, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, the council said it had previously stayed out of the matter but felt compelled to speak due to recent developments. This follows comments by Defence Minister General Christopher Musa accusing El-Rufai of planning killings in Southern Kaduna and fostering division during his tenure from 2015 to 2023.
