Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on the Inspector-General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services to intervene after his convoy was blocked in Benue State. Obi was on his way to Yelewata community to sympathise with families affected by a June 13, 2025 armed attack when youths stopped his convoy along the Makurdi-Gboko Road. The youths chanted 'Obi go back' and threw stones, forcing Obi to return to the airport and leave the state without completing his visit.
