Kenya hosted the Working Group 3 Regional Workshop on Operational Cooperation and Coordination at Sea in Mombasa on 7 September 2026. The workshop brought together maritime security stakeholders to assess challenges and strengthen cooperation in the Western Indian Ocean. Commander Kenya Navy, Major General Paul Otieno, opened the event, which marked one year since Kenya assumed chairmanship of the working group.
