The Kano State Emirate has announced the death of Alhaji Shehu Kabiru Bayero, the District Head of Dorayi, who held the traditional title of Barde Kerarriya. He passed away in Egypt, according to a statement posted on the emirate's official Facebook page on Tuesday. The emirate prayed for the eternal rest of the deceased and for strength for his family and the Kano Royal House. The statement did not provide details on when his remains would be brought to Nigeria for burial. Bayero was redeployed from Gwarzo to the newly created Dorayi district in 2025 by Emir Muhammadu Sanusi. He had previously served as the District Head of Takai and Gwarzo, and he joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1970 as a constable, rising to the rank of police officer before his retirement.
