The Zamfara State Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Agency (RUWATSAN) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have agreed to strengthen cooperation to improve Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) services in the state. The Programme Manager of RUWATSAN, Dr. Abubakar Nasiru Galadima, announced this after receiving the Chief of the UNICEF Sokoto Field Office, Dr. Michael Juma. Discussions focused on sustainable WASH systems, resilient infrastructure, operation and maintenance of facilities, faecal sludge management, and water quality monitoring. The collaboration aims to enhance access to clean water and sanitation for residents of Zamfara.
