The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the introduction of a real-time readiness tracker to monitor its preparations for the 2027 general elections across Nigeria's 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory. The initiative was unveiled by INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan during a two-day Strategic Operational Workshop for Administrative Secretaries in Lagos. The tracker will use a standardized Excel-based template linked to the commission's Election Monitoring and Support Centre dashboard and Election Project Plan. This system aims to provide leadership with instant visibility into state-level preparations and address operational challenges promptly.
