Equity investors on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) lost approximately N1.88 trillion on Tuesday as selling pressure in major stocks like MTN Nigeria, First HoldCo, AccessCorp, and GTCO dragged the market lower. The NGX All-Share Index declined by 1.17 percent to close at 244,802.11, with the year-to-date return moderating to 57.31 percent. The decline was driven by profit-taking in the banking sector, leading to a fall in market capitalisation to N158.72 trillion. Market activity increased, with total volume rising by 84.67 percent and turnover by 2.09 percent, with NEM Insurance being the most actively traded stock.
