Occupants of a three-storey building in Wuse Zone 3, Abuja, have recounted that they noticed cracks on the structure before it collapsed on Monday evening, resulting in the destruction of property worth millions of naira. Some occupants told Daily Trust that they had begun moving out after observing the cracks, shortly before the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) sealed the premises due to structural concerns. The building, which had been used as a hotel, residential facility, and commercial plaza, collapsed hours after FCTA officials directed occupants to vacate, following the reported failure of one of its supporting pillars. No deaths or injuries were recorded in the incident, according to Daily Trust.
