The President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Dr. Dele Alabi, stated that Nigeria's improving macroeconomic indicators will be meaningless if they do not translate into lower living costs, more jobs, higher incomes, and better living standards for citizens. He made this remark at the opening of the 19th Annual Banking and Finance Conference in Abuja. Alabi emphasized that the ultimate test of Nigeria's economic reforms should be their impact on households and businesses. This comes amid concerns that economic growth is not reflecting in the lives of ordinary Nigerians facing harsh conditions.
