Domestic violence is increasingly tearing homes apart in Lagos, with about 700 cases involving male victims reported in the past year. The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA) recorded 33,009 cases between late 2021 and mid-2026. Executive Secretary Titilola Vivour-Adeniyi attributed the rise to economic pressure, mental health strain, and a culture of silence. The agency is intensifying legal crackdowns despite heavy caseloads.
