Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), was prevented by youths from entering Yelwata community in Guma Local Government Area of Benue State to commiserate with victims of deadly attacks. This is the second time Obi has been blocked from entering Benue, following a similar incident in April 2025 when his planned visit to IDP camps was stopped. Witnesses reported that his convoy was halted by stick-wielding youths along the Gboko road near the Nigerian Air Force Base.
