On September 8, Japan's Parliamentary Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs, Onishi Yohei, met with Tanzania's Minister of State for Planning and Investments, Kitila Mkumbo, who was leading a public-private investment mission to Japan. Onishi highlighted the traditionally excellent relations between the two countries and expressed high expectations for Japanese investment in Tanzania, which serves as a gateway to East Africa. Mkumbo thanked Japan for its development cooperation and expressed hope for further investment. The meeting lasted about 20 minutes.
