FG must resolve Nigeria’s literacy crisis – NAS

The National Association of Seadogs (Pyrates Confraternity) has called for urgent action to address Nigeria's literacy crisis. In a statement marking the 2026 International Literacy Day, the group highlighted that 18.3 million out-of-school children and 64 million illiterate adults are unacceptable for a country aiming for a thriving economy. The association emphasized that literacy is a right and essential for Nigerians to learn, participate, work, innovate, and live with dignity.
