The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has condemned the reported obstruction of its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, from accessing Yelwata community in Benue State to visit victims of recent killings. The party alleged that suspected thugs blocked Obi's convoy on Tuesday, preventing him from entering the community where over 270 people were reportedly killed. In a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Osa Director, the NDC claimed the group was led by an aide to Governor Hyacinth Alia. The party described the incident as troubling, noting that Obi's visit was intended to mourn with affected families and listen to victims.
