The 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly opened with the Permanent Mission of Equatorial Guinea, led by Ambassador Anatolio Ndong Mba, participating in the closing of the 80th session and the opening of the 81st. Outgoing President Annalena Baerbock of Germany reviewed her term, noting deep geopolitical divisions and the need for institutional reforms. She acknowledged that despite few unanimous conclusions, resolutions passed by overwhelming majority showed that geopolitical tensions unified the organization. The Equatorial Guinean delegation included Deputy Permanent Representative Juan Mbomio Ndong Mangue and other diplomatic staff.
