The Kwankwaso National Network (KNN) South-East zone has warned that 'nothing must happen' to Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), following an incident where his convoy was obstructed in Benue State. The group demanded an immediate and transparent investigation into the attack, which occurred on the Makurdi-Gboko Road while Obi was traveling to commiserate with victims of recent attacks. Videos showed youths wielding sticks blocking the road. Obi alleged that an aide to Governor Hyacinth Alia led the mob, but the Benue State Government denied knowledge of the visit and rejected the suggestion.
