The Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) has warned residents against patronizing traders operating illegally on roads, medians, setbacks, walkways, and other unauthorized public spaces. The Managing Director, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegesin, said enforcement would commence next week as part of a renewed strategy to curb illegal trading and indiscriminate waste disposal. He noted that under Section 151(2) of the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017, offenders risk arrest and prosecution, including those who patronize such traders.
