The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has disowned an election petition filed in its name challenging the victory of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the August 15 Osun governorship election. The party's National Publicity Secretary, Mr. Jungudo Mohammed, said the party did not authorize, sponsor, or approve the petition before the Election Petition Tribunal in Osogbo. He emphasized that only the PDP National Legal Adviser has the constitutional mandate to institute legal proceedings on behalf of the party. The party has placed disclaimer advertisements on the action.
