The Sokoto State Police Command has warned political parties against engaging in violence, hate speech, and the spread of fake news ahead of the 2027 general elections. The Commissioner of Police, Ali Hayatu, issued the warning during a meeting with leaders of various political parties in the state. He vowed that the police would hold party leaders accountable for any acts of violence or misconduct by their members. The police also urged parties to conduct their campaigns peacefully and within the confines of the law.
