Northwest ADC Governorship Candidates Sign Regional Compact, Pledge Joint Action on Security, Devt

The seven governorship candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Nigeria's Northwest have signed a regional development compact aimed at tackling insecurity, poverty, food insecurity, unemployment and weak human development through coordinated action across the seven states. The Northwest ADC Governorship Candidates' Compact 2027–2031 was adopted and signed on Wednesday by the party's governorship candidates from Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Sokoto and Zamfara. The candidates unveiled a four-year plan targeting security, food crisis, education, healthcare, jobs and regional economic integration. They also backed Atiku Abubakar's promise to reverse the removal of fuel subsidy and pledged to implement a N110,000 minimum wage for workers in the region.
