The Nigerian Army has appointed Major General Ajose as the new commander of Operation Hadin Kai, the military's major counter-insurgency operation in the North-East. Ajose was moved from the Army Headquarters Department of Army Operations to take over leadership of the operation. The appointment is part of a routine redeployment aimed at bringing fresh ideas to the fight against Boko Haram and ISWAP. The army has not released further details about the change of command.
