The Federal Government has paid the Consolidated Academic Tools Allowance (CATA) to academic staff in federal universities, polytechnics, and colleges of education for January to August 2026. Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, announced this in Abuja on Wednesday, stating that affected institutions have been notified to commence payment. He added that the government is working to provide funds for CATA for non-academic staff, with funds expected within weeks. This move underscores President Bola Tinubu's commitment to the welfare of tertiary institution workers.
