The South West Development Commission (SWDC) has obtained a provisional licence to build a regional passenger and freight rail network connecting the six states of South-west Nigeria. Managing Director Dr Charles Akinola disclosed this during a stakeholder meeting in Ibadan. The commission will partner with Odu'a Investment Company Ltd. and the Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission to develop the rail system. This initiative aims to enhance passenger and freight movement across the region.
