A drug suspect known as KC Luxury has asked a court to lift a 30-day detention order, while the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has justified the remand. The suspect's lawyer argued that under Sections 293 to 299 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act (ACJA), particularly Section 296(1), a court cannot order a suspect's remand for more than 14 days in the first instance. The NDLEA, however, maintains that the detention is lawful.
