Governorship candidates of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the seven North West states have signed a development covenant for the socio-economic emancipation of the region ahead of the 2027 general elections. The declaration, titled 'Northwest ADC Governorship Candidates' Compact 2027–2031', aims to protect citizens through reform and responsible management of public resources. Speaking on behalf of the candidates, former Attorney General of the Federation Abubakar Malami, who is the ADC candidate in Kebbi State, promised that all candidates have committed to implementing a minimum wage of ₦110,000 for workers across the seven states if elected. Malami also alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) governors in the zone have failed to implement projects that would lift people out of poverty.
