Lionel Messi has reached a preliminary agreement to become the majority shareholder of Spanish second-division club Eldense, according to the BBC. The deal involves acquiring shares from Grupo TH Soluciones and is subject to legal procedures and approval from Spain's National Sports Council. This would be Messi's second investment in a Spanish club, following his purchase of fifth-tier side Cornella in April. The announcement comes shortly after Messi retired from international football following Argentina's loss to Spain in the 2026 World Cup final.
