Motorists and commuters on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway are experiencing severe traffic congestion due to repair works on the Kara Bridge. The two-week rehabilitation project, directed by the Minister of Works, involves replacing deteriorating expansion joints to improve safety and traffic flow. The project was initially scheduled for August but was suspended for a traffic review. The Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation had warned of possible gridlock, and LASTMA and TRACE have deployed personnel to manage the situation.
