The death toll from a diphtheria outbreak in Plateau State has risen to 27, with suspected cases reaching 303. State Epidemiologist Dr. Maren Damulak disclosed the figures in Jos, noting that most cases are in Jos North LGA, particularly in Rikkos community. He stated that 99% of cases are in Jos North and that most affected individuals had not received the diphtheria vaccine. The state government is working to contain the outbreak.
