The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has condemned an attack on Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), and his entourage in Benue State. In a statement signed by Deputy Director Kolawole Oluwadare, SERAP urged President Bola Tinubu to direct Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Rilwan Disu to take over the investigation. The attack occurred on Tuesday when suspected thugs stopped Obi's convoy along Gboko Road in Makurdi, near the Air Force Base. SERAP called for a prompt, thorough, and impartial investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible.
