Lagos State has reported 53 suspected cases of diphtheria, with six confirmed cases, prompting health officials to urge residents to remain vigilant. The state commissioner for health advised the public to seek immediate medical attention if they experience symptoms such as severe sore throat, fever, weakness, difficulty swallowing or breathing, neck swelling, or a white or greyish membrane at the back of the throat. Health authorities are working to contain the outbreak and prevent further spread.
