LIV Golf, the Saudi-backed rebel golf league, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this week. Court documents filed in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of New Jersey list Rick Shiels Media as one of its largest creditors, owed $1.4 million in unsecured debts. Rick Shiels, a golf instructor turned YouTuber with over 3 million subscribers, faced backlash from fans after signing a deal with LIV in 2025. The league attracted top golf stars with lucrative contracts when it launched in 2022.
