Supermarkets are suing NYC over Mamdani's city-run grocery stores' 'predatory pricing scheme'

Private grocers, led by the National Supermarket Association, have filed a federal lawsuit against New York City over Mayor Zohran Mamdani's plan to open five city-run grocery stores. The lawsuit alleges that the stores, which will offer a 30% discount on core goods, violate US antitrust laws by undercutting local competitors. This is the second legal challenge to the initiative, following a state-level lawsuit filed last month by the Multicultural Business Coalition.
